I know most teachers in Kindergarten and grades 1-3 would love to add these to their classroom library. You should be able to find many of them at the library, but they also make great gifts for kids, school librarians, and elementary school teachers. Some of the titles on this list are historical nonfiction books and some are modern, but all of them are based on real people and real events. I hope you discover some new books and stories to fall in love with! So, I put together this reading list of picture books based on true stories. Maybe because it’s something that happened in real life-a real event that happened to a real person (or animal). There’s just something about a true story that makes it more special.
